A Wine Picnic combining a vineyard walk with wine runs from late March to late November, starting at 15:00 for about 20 minutes, 1,650 yen per person, reservation required three days ahead (0235-26-7807). Regular winery tours are suspended for now because of the busy season; tastings of pre-release wines and cellar visits may be arranged by enquiry depending on the season. Dinner needs a booking three days ahead for four or more guests from 5,500 yen (17:30-21:00, L.O. 20:30), but a temporary suspension was announced in March 2026.
A winery in Matsugaoka, Haguromachi, Tsuruoka, Yamagata. Persimmon orchards were converted and planting began in 2017; estate wine from Matsugaoka grapes went on sale in 2020. It farms about 10,000 vines of eight varieties across seven plots and vinifies by gravity flow without pumps, in a vin nature style. A restaurant, cafe and shop overlook the vineyard, and the winery also hosts weddings.
