If you are driving, please do not taste. Japan has a zero-tolerance drink-driving law.

A roughly 40-minute guided tour of the cellar, bottling area and underground wine cave, arranged by phone. Tours are suspended during the busy harvest season (roughly August to early November). The ground-floor shop offers tasting of around 40 wines at any time.

Founded in 1899 in Shimoiwasaki, Katsunuma, Koshu City, this long-established winery farms its own vineyards along the Hikawa river with Koshu, Kai Noir, Chardonnay, Merlot and Petit Verdot, producing around 800 kl a year. Its shop offers tasting of about 40 wines, and 40-minute winery tours run by appointment.
