If you are driving, please do not taste. Japan has a zero-tolerance drink-driving law.

Tours run three times daily (10:30/13:00/15:00) for ¥500. Tasting 10:00–17:00: five wines ¥1,500, two wines ¥1,000.

A winery next to a vineyard on a 38-degree average slope in Ashikaga, Tochigi. The hillside was cleared in the 1950s by special-needs junior high students and their teacher Noboru Kawata, and the Kokoromi Gakuen support facility for people with disabilities opened at its foot in 1969. Because a social welfare corporation cannot hold a fruit-wine licence, a limited company was set up in 1980 and licensed in 1984. Five estate vineyards totalling about 6 ha in Ashikaga and Sano grow Muscat Bailey A, Petit Manseng, Tannat, Albarino and others; no herbicide has ever been used since the land was cleared.
