Where This Site Is Thin
Data / Published 2026-08-27
Showing where information is well covered also reveals where it remains thin. This table is not a contest for listing counts; it reviews, by prefecture, how far addresses, visit information, and varieties have been confirmed.

What “complete information” means
“Complete information” does not mean a detailed profile. It means that an address down to street and lot-level detail, visit information, and cultivated varieties have been confirmed. If only a municipality is known, visits are unstated, or varieties cannot be found, the producer is not counted as complete.

The listing count is the base for reading confirmation progress. A prefecture with many producers has a larger denominator, so more listings do not guarantee greater completeness. With fewer listings, a small number of confirmations can move the ratio. Counts and ratios answer different questions.
Do not turn prefectural differences into information judgments
Ratios reflect the producer mix, how easy official sites are to find, update timing, and the scope of our review. Yamanashi, Nagano, and Hokkaido have many listings, but that does not guarantee high completeness. A smaller prefecture may look stronger when more fields were confirmed. The table is not a direct portrait of regional disclosure.
Many official sites do not state whether visits or tastings are available. Without an explicit statement such as reservation required, sales only, or no visits, photographs and common practice cannot fill the field. The reliable route is to ask the producer. A low ratio can mean that we have not confirmed primary information, not that producers fail to publish it.
Reading a prefectural row therefore requires looking beyond the high or low ratio and asking which field is missing. One producer may have a confirmed address but no visit information; another may not publish varieties. The same blank can require a different follow-up. The prefectural table is a guide to improving confirmation, not a ranking of regions.
This approach keeps a low row from being dismissed as a research failure. The missing field tells us whether to look for an official page, ask about visiting conditions, or wait for primary information about varieties.
Why blank fields matter
Our reading: leaving an unconfirmed field blank protects the meaning of confirmed fields. An address supported by a source should not be treated like one inferred from a map. A blank is not a negative rating; it says that there is no sufficient basis for confirmation at this time.
A listing with only a name does not mean that the producer is absent. It is an entry point for adding only what can be verified. A site update or a direct statement can fill the gap later. Publishing thin areas shares what should be checked next.
