A winery founded in 1884 in Nasushiobara, Tochigi. Kenji Watanabe cleared the land and planted vines during the early-Meiji reclamation of the Nasunogahara plain, and old vines of Muscat Bailey A and Niagara over 60 years old survive. The fourth-generation owner studied techniques in Pauillac, Bordeaux and planted Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc for a modern label series alongside the classic label series made since the founding.
