Karuizawa Ann Winery
軽井沢アンワイナリー
If you are driving, please do not taste. Japan has a zero-tolerance drink-driving law.
The winery shop is inside Hinata-no-Terrace, a converted heritage building (the former Ohinata Church and St. Joseph nursery); it sells bottles and offers paid tastings. Open Saturdays and Sundays 12:00-16:00 from March to December (limited winter opening in January and February). The official site does not state whether cellar tours are available. A vendange harvest festival is held each October.
Karuizawa's first winery, opened in 2023 in the heritage-listed former Ohinata Church and St. Joseph nursery in Ohinata, Karuizawa, Nagano, and operated by Plus Forest Co., Ltd. Besides the 1,050 m site it farms vineyards in Komoro, making the bottle-fermented sparkling wine Anne no Awa from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier, as well as apple cider.
