ITAYA Farm & Winery
The winery was completed in June 2026, with an opening ceremony on 27 June and a public open day on 28 June; the official site calls it the first winery in Hakui. It does not say whether tours or tastings are available at other times. There is a vine ownership scheme.
ITAYA Farm & Winery was founded in August 2020 by Kenichi Fujishima, an occupational therapist and former disability-employment support worker. He reclaimed approximately 2.2 hectares of abandoned farmland in his hometown of Hakui and planted about 1,000 vines in 2021 and 1,700 more in 2023. Known as a winery by the sea, the farm focuses on Albarino and grows five varieties using the sea breeze and terrain of Chirihama. Its agricultural-welfare partnership aims to create a wine village where people with disabilities and older adults can work, and the winery was completed in June 2026.
