株式会社MAOI 馬追蒸溜所（旧マオイ自由の丘ワイナリー）
Distillery tours run twice a day (13:30 and 14:30), about 10 minutes each; some days have a minimum party size and tours may be capped at 10 people. Buses and groups require advance reservation. Shop and tours are open Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays 13:00-15:00 (subject to change at New Year, peak season and harvest). The official site does not state whether tasting is offered or charged.
Founded as a small winery in 2006, reorganized as Maoi Jiyu-no-Oka Winery in 2017, and renamed Maoi Distillery under MAOI Co., Ltd. in 2021. On the Maoi hills of Naganuma it makes wine chiefly from estate-grown vitis coignetiae (yamabudo) lineage grapes, and also distills brandy and whisky with Forsyths stills from Scotland. The estate manages about 15 hectares and has a lookout over the Ishikari plain and a direct-sales shop.
