An apple orchard in Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture, opened in the mid-Meiji era and now more than a century old. MORIYAMAEN Co., Ltd. was established in 2015; the Tekikaka Cidre factory was completed in 2017, the fruit-wine brewing licence was obtained the same year, and Tekikaka Cidre went on sale in 2018. The company makes cider and apple soda from thinned apples that used to be discarded.
