A white-wine grape with yamabudo lineage, often making a fresh white with pear- and apple-like aromas and clean acidity.

Hokuten-no-Shizuku is a Japanese crossing presented as a white-wine grape on the Shimura Grape Research Institute's official site. That page lists Gyoja-no-Mizu, a yamabudo line, as the female parent and Chardonnay as the male parent, while an official Ibaraki feature and several producer documents list Riesling instead. Because these published primary and producer sources do not agree, this page does not assert a single parent combination. Wines made from the variety can show pear, apple and banana aromas together with refreshing acidity and some breadth.
